Description

Fine art print by Bill Pfeifer, Jr. (Wéidaaká Yóodóohaa)

The detailed story behind the print is available in Raven’s Matrix: The Simulation Unveiled article.

A traditional Tlingit longhouse with Eagle and Raven posts coming alive.  The two opposing figures watch as the box of knowledge unleashes the Simulated world around us in a reimagining of one of the origin stories from the Tlingit people.  Streams of binary shoot forth and encapsulate the digital longhouse, while Raven consumes the blue pill to enter the Matrix simulation.

From the Artist: Welcome to my store, where I share my passion for formline art, a unique and ancient style of the Native people of the Northwest Coast of North America. My name is Wéidaaká Yóodóohaa (Bill Pfeifer, Jr) and I am a Tlingit tribal member from southeast Alaska. I currently live in Washington, but I still feel a strong connection to my culture and my homeland. My father is an artist and he taught me the basics of formline design, which expresses the stories, values and beliefs of my people. I also had the privilege of studying under Nathan Jackson, a renowned Tlingit master carver, who has done totem pole carvings with my father. I work with digital tools like Photoshop and Illustrator to produce colorful and dynamic designs, inspired by the long tradition of formline art. I want to share this art with a wider audience and spread awareness and appreciation of my culture. You can find some of my prints available for purchase here, or follow me on Instagram to see more of my work and get updates on new projects. Gunalchéesh (thank you) for visiting my store and supporting my art!
